 Students earn points for the Reading category through submitting reading-based homework, reading books or articles in their free time, and completing the company’s vocab exercises.
       
     
 Students earn points for the effort category primarily through communicating to me and my co-worker what work they’ve completed, what work they have left, and working on those assignments during their free time.
       
     
 Students earn points for the Algebra/Arithmetic category through completing math assignments, mental math practice sheets, and taking Khan Academy lessons.
       
     
 The Love category is meant to encourage students to embark on projects that pique their interests, even if they’re not explicitly academic. These projects could range from book reports, to mousetrap cars, to Dungeons & Dragons campaigns.
       
     
 Students unlock the ability to earn achievements after the class has hit Class Level 2.   This system provides students with even more short/long-term goals that incentivize them to engage with their academic materials and contextualize the progress
       
     
 Unlocked after the class hits Class Level 4, the Daily Bounty System is a selection of three hand-picked articles from the Zinc Learning Labs website that students earn bonus EXP for reading. The list is updated with new articles at the start of eve

I designed and implemented this gamification system in order to track the academic progress of and encourage a small group of 6th graders to pursue academically enriching activities outside of class.

This system provides students several avenues of long term and short term goals to keep them motivated, engaged, and inspired to
